Ron Albert joined our employability programme back in November 2011 following a long term period of unemployment and lack of realistic opportunities to gain any kind of work or job security. Within minutes of meeting Ronnie it was clear he had a lot to offer potential employers with his enthusiasm and passion for helping others.

During the programme Ronnie demonstrated high levels of leadership and teamwork skills with a desire to work in the Health and Fitness Industry that made him stand out from the crowd. We linked Ronnie up with an employer for interview and following a makeover which included the purchase of his first ever pair of proper shoes, Ronnie won over co-owners of Powertone Nick and Stefan.

Ronnie started work at the gym in Aldgate and Victoria which uses Power Plates to intensify the workout; he has since gone on to be an integral member of the team with constant praise for his hard work and dedication from members who attend his classes and his colleagues. He is currently nearing completion of his Apprenticeship in Health and Fitness overcoming significant challenges including dyslexia which is a credit to his determination to succeed. Ronnie has now become a volunteer ambassador for our employability programme speaking to many young people who feel they can’t be successful in gaining work. We wish Ronnie every success in the future.
